Ocean Engineering. Have you heard of it. Not a lot of people have which is surprising. This is one of the reasons why we as of now know more about the moon than we do our oceans which are on OUR earth and are OUR life source. We hope the following article will help you learn more about our oceans and ocean engineering.
One problem that ocean engineers solve is humans cannot dive to the deep parts of the ocean because it is impossible to hold your breath for that long. Even with SCUBA gear, the ocean depths are hard to explore without technology. Ocean engineers solve this problem by developing new types of scuba gear, for example something like rebreathers. They help you breathe in out out and a tank that you hold while diving filters out the CO2. (You also have an extra oxygen tank just in case). This is helping divers, ocean explorers, and aquanauts dive to deeper levels. (For example SCUBA gear can only get you 100 ft below sea level, and, with training and practice, you can get up to 300 ft. below sea level with the rebreathers!
This is just one of the challenges that ocean engineers face, and there are many others, but we hope you've learned more about ocean engineering!
